Here at Accent on Eyes we care about your individualized needs for wearing contact lenses. We discuss the different types of contact lenses, whether it be a one day lens, a two week lens or a one month lens.
Today most people feel the one day lens is the healthiest and the easiest to wear, especially for our teenage contact lens fits. There is minimal care, and each day you start with a pair of brand new, clean contact lenses.
We start with the eyeglass prescription you bring in from your Doctor. We measure the corneal curves of each eye, and the tears in your eyes to see if contact lenses would be a comfortable fit for you. We then examine your eyes in a bio microscope or slit lamp to check the general health of the eye, before we fit you with the contact lenses.
After evaluating all this information, we then insert the contact lens we expect to have the best fit and vision on your eye, and we teach you how to put the lenses in and to take the out. We will take you out of the fitting room for about 15 minutes to let you get used to having the lens in your eye.
We then take you back in for a check of the fit of the lens and the vision, to make sure you are seeing well.
After that, we sit down with you and review all care instructions for the contact lens and to give you care reminder forms you take home to review.
At the end of the fitting and care review we will set up an appointment for you to return in about a week to check the fit again for your new contact lenses.
At that time, when everything checks out we then order the supply of lenses for you to wear and enjoy!
